Northampton Cuda Scholarship Program
 

All graduating seniors/college freshman who meet the following criteria are eligible to be considered for a one-time $500 cash scholarship to assist with attending the college of his/her choice.  To be eligible to receive the scholarship you must:

-Swim a minimum of the last two years of eligibility.

-Swim in at least three meets, plus Divisionals each year.

-Stay at the meets until you swim your last scheduled event.

-Set a consistent, positive example that the younger swimmers will want to emulate.

-Provide evidence, upon request, of the college in which the swimmer has or intends to enroll in.

-Complete the Cuda Scholarship Application and return in to the Head Coach.

The Scholarship(s) will be awarded based on the Northampton Cuda Board’s judgment as to which swimmer(s) demonstrate excellence as a team leader, team member, and good sport.  Each year, all eligible candidates will be considered for inclusion in this program.  Depending on available funds, the scholarship may be adjusted up or down, at the determination of the Cuda Board of Directors.

It is imperative that the Cudas continue to focus on fundraising that can be directed towards this worthwhile effort as a way to assist our youth with their aspirations to pursue a college education.  This program will also serve to bolster our older swimmer ranks, and be utilized as a tool to express our appreciation for their participation on the team. 

Any special considerations shall be presented by the coaches to the Swim Team Board.  Paid coaches who would otherwise be eligible to participate on the team will not be considered for this program. 

This Scholarship Program and its criteria were created by the 2004 Cuda Swim Team Board under the leadership of  President, Chris Parris.
