Subject: Online registration is up and running and other important information!
Date: Tuesday, February 12, 2008

_

Hello Cudas!

It was great seeing those of you that came by the clubhouse Saturday! Registration is well underway with over 100 swimmers already registered!

We are so excited to introduce our new online registration system as well! You are able to fill out the registration form online, submit it, and then either run a check by registration, or drop it in the mail to our Treasurer, Beth Martin. You will receive a confirmation email with payment information included!

Our last opportunity for early bird registration in person is this Sunday, February 17, from 12pm - 4pm.

We are still working on the 2008 handbook and practice schedule. We know practice times will be hectic for a bit, with school still being in session for the first part of the swim season. We understand there will be conflicts with school and prior commitments, and we will be as flexible as possible with practice schedules. That being said, we are planning on starting practices the week of April 14.

Also mark your calendars for April 13, from 6-7:30pm. This will be our "Meet the Coaches" night! We will have a drop in from 6-7pm to talk with and meet Coach Ross and his staff, and from 7-7:30 will be a question and answer session.

Yes! We are wearing the same swimsuit this year. Also, all girls and swimmers with long hair will need to wear a swim cap for both practice and meets. We have Cuda caps available for purchase, or if you choose a different cap, it can not have any other logo or team name on it. Coach Ross is also strongly recommending swim fins for training/practice. He feels it is very beneficial in accomplishing stroke technique, and with strength and endurance training.

All caps, suits and fins are available from Swimshops of the Southwest. A representative will be at practice selling the above equipment the first two weeks of practice. I will let you know the exact dates closer to them coming out.

We are looking forward to a great 2008 season! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at president@northamptoncudas.com!

See you soon!
Go Cudas!

Subject: Cudas have a new head coach!!
Date: Sat, 26 Jan 2008

_

Hi Cudas!

I know its cold outside, but we are so fired up about what's on the horizon for the Cudas we just couldn't wait any longer!! The board has searched far and wide to find the perfect person for the Cudas' Head Coaching position.

I am thrilled to introduce you to our new head coach, Ross Davis!!! Ross comes to us from Austin, TX, where he was on the coaching staff at the Twin Creeks Country Club. He was a year round age group coach, and also a coach with their Masters and Summer League swim teams. He is certified with the American Swim Coach's Association.

Ross was a walk on to the swim team at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. In his freshman year, he earned a spot on the State Conference Team, and went on to be awarded a scholarship his sophomore year. While swimming at Clarion, he qualified for Nationals competitions and went on to earn NCAA Honors eight times. He set school records in 200 Freestyle, 200 Fly, 200 IM and 800 Free Relay.

During his "off" time, Ross competed as an open water lifeguard and won Maine's Iron Guard competition 4 times. He was honored as Maine's Most Valuable Life Guard in 1989.

After graduating with a BSBA in Accounting in 1989, Ross began a sales career with Nikon, which eventually lead him to Dallas. In 2002, he started his own company, Multiplicity, LLC, which involves microscope sales and services. He is still active with this today.

While being a Masters swimmer, Ross has been ranked Top Ten nationally in 50/100/200/400/500 Free; 50/100/200 Fly; 50/100/200 Back; and 100/200/400 IM. If that's not enough, he also holds South TX's Masters Zone records in 100/200 Fly; 50/100/200 Back; 50/100/200 Free; and 200/400 IM. He achieved All American Masters status in 2004 with the fastest posted time in 400 IM; and again in 2005 with 100 Back. In 2005 he won National Titles in 100 Fly, 200 Back, 200 Free, and 200 Free Relay. In 2006 at the FINA Masters World Championship, he broke 2 world records in 200 Back and 200 Mixed Relay.

If you think that's all....it's not!! Coach Ross is a really great guy! He tries to lead by example by building strong, positive habits and fundamentals, which will not only help a swimmer swim faster, but build self confidence for the future. He believes "The mirror does not reflect truth or potential--it only reflects your perception". Ross hopes young swimmers realize if they think and train like a champion every chance they get...they can become one.

I think you'll agree, Coach Ross is quite the achieved swimmer and coach. What you may not realize is his attitude and love for the sport. I know our children are going to have a fabulous experience this summer with Coach Ross and his staff! He brings with him experience, but also enthusiasm and fresh ideas for our team.

Don't miss out on the chance to be a part of this team! Registration start Feb. 9th! More info will be coming soon, or check out the Cuda web site at www.northamptoncudas.com !

Go Cudas!!!
